Hello all I just have one simple question.Could a pc still boot without a cpu/Faulty cpu.A while ago my ram and mobo were blown so I was wondering if the cpu could be still okay.Is there a way to check?
The ram and mobo were blown because one day it just stopped working and my friend said I should reseat the ram on the other two dimm slots.Studpidly I put the ram in the wrong way roumd and poof a puff of smoke and it switched off. When I took it in they said the one of the sticks ram and motherboard are completely blown.

How did you manage to put the RAM in the wrong way round? RAM only goes in one way, because it has a notch slightly off to one side. It cannot be inserted in the other unless you pushed it down so hard it carved a notch into it, which I highly doubt.
Anyway, there is no way to boot a computer without a working motherboard. What you have to do is find another PC with a motherboard with the same socket as your's and swap the CPUs (You don't need the RAM, only a working motherboard, PSU and the CPU to see if it boots to BIOS at least.). If the PC boots with your CPU, then it works. If it doesn't, then the CPU has been damaged, and most probably cannot be fixed. CPUs generally either work or don't; It is highly unlikely that they work but give problems, so the best way to check is to put it in a working motherboard with the same socket.
