Hi, thanks for you time here. I have a laptop and PC. I would like to play GTA5 on both and would be good before I put my 40$ on the game.

My Laptop :
Brand : Sony Vaio
OS : Windows 8.1, 64-bit
CPU : i5, 1.8GHz with turbo boost to 2.4GHz
GPU : GT 740M Nvidia, 2GB
RAM: 4GB
Display: 720p
HDD: Sony 500GB
Gameplay : Atleast equivalent or better than PS3 graphics (I own)
Note : This is optimus laptop, hence GTA4 didnt even detect my 740m GPU. Is the same happening for GTA5 as well?. Can some one please confirm?.

My PC:
Brand : Assembled
OS : Windows 7 ultimate 64-bit
CPU: Intel i5, 3470
RAM: 4GB (Can buy 4GB more, no probs)
GPU: Asus GTX560 Direct CUII 1GB RAM
Display: 1080p
HDD : WD1TB
Gameplay : Can I expect a decent 25-30fps in 1080p with normal settings (AA turned off, etc)?. Must be a lot better than PS3\Xbox 360, if not better than PS4 ;-)

Your help will be appreciated. Thanks

Both could play it, the PC a lot better than the laptop.

If you chose the right settings you can achieve good results on your desktop. It is all about fine tuning. I would strongy recommend 8GB of Ram, not just for GTA. Be warned, you cant just buy another stick and expect it to work perfectly, you are looking at buying a new 2x4gb dual channel pair, still not expensive though.

Here is a guide to help you get the moqst out of the game!

Thanks for your help. By the way, do you have any idea about the optimus thing?, and does it affect GTA5 the same way it did for GTA4?.

Optimus happens automatically. You generally don't have to do anything. If it does play on your igpu, then go to the nivida control panel and change the gpu.

Thanks a lot

Do you mean these figures for card like GTX560 (PC) and GT 640M(Lap) ??

Yes........Your PC says it has GTX560 and Your Laptop Says its got 740M......

Thanks, My PC just plays fine in 1920x1080p res @ 60fps with settings high to very high\ultra with advanced settings off. However, I have 1 GB card, but the resource says it has exceeded the limit, but the game plays well.
As for laptop, it works in 720p @ 30fps with all settings normal and some disabled.

Thanks...again
