can my portable ext hard drive upload a virus so my computer arrow wont move?

I just bought a portable Hard Drive and i plugged it in on my laptop and all of a suddent the mouse pad stopped working?

Nope your PC more than likely froze up for whatever reason. Never heard of a virus like that before and if it brand new i highly doubt that is the cause. Try it on another PC
