My current rig is using a full HD monitor, but what if I want to go higher? Which is 1440p 60hz/144hz monitor? Looking for a much better upgrade.

My parts are:

Gigabyte Geforce GTX 960 G1 Gaming - 2GB GDDR5 - GPU
Asrock H97 Anniversary - Motherboard
Intel Core i5-4460 - boxed CPU
HyperX Fury DDR3 1600 Mhz CL10 module black 8GB - RAM
Western Digital Caviar Blue 1 TB 3,5" - 7200 RPM - HDD for mass storage SATA 6gb/s 64MB
Samsung EVO 120GB - SSD
OS windows 7 home premium 64-bit SP1 (OEM)
XFX TS 650W - PSU (gold certificate)

Note: Currently using an old SyncMaster P2270HD
22 inch, and only 50hz...

Thank you in advance

Solution
for gaming it will struggle. to run 1440p you want a gpu from the next tier up at least.
anything form a 980/r9390x up would be enough... but try to aim for a 1070 or better.

Hmmm even if I want to play games on 1440p with just 60 fps....I go for 1440p 60hz right? Anyways I have to get a better GPU anyways if I want above 60fps with 1440p. Thank you :D
