Can My System Run Asus GTS 450 Direct Cu.......?

Hi,
I am planning to buy gts 450 But problem is that,
I have Intex 450 watt Smps And i do not want upgrade it
and it does not have 6-pin pci e power connector
I think it works with two molex to 6-pin connector

Rest of my Config Are:

Core 2 duo e7400 @2.80 Oc To 3.25 (If it creates problem i will ste it to defolt clocks)
Intel G31 Motherboard
2 gb ddr2 ram
1 HDD 250 gb
1 DVD Rom
1 Fan...


I have tested HD 6770 and it runs perfect....

Well I wouldn't try it. According to this[/ulr] link, your PSU only has 20A on the 12v rail. It's possible, but the PSU quality is where I'd have the issue here. The GPU (gts 450) consumes about 11w (idle) - 102w (full load).

It's up to you, but because the PSU looks a bit iffy, I'd consider something with less power requirements (like the 5670 or 6670, which require only the power supplied on the mobo: ie: no PCI-e power connector).

Edit: Just noticed the comment on the 6770, which is a better GPU, IMHO, than the gts 450. I still wouldn't temp fate with it. You don't know if the PSU will give up in a puff of smoke one day and take something else out with it.
