hi i have:
intel pentium g4560
MSI H81M-E33
ddr3 2x4 gb 1600MHz
MSI GTX1060 6GB GDDR5

im planning to get an ultrawide monitor but can my system run modern games on an ultrawide monitor?

Solution
that minboard is lga 1150, ddr3

the cpu you mention is for lga 1151, it will not work in that socket

you need a newer mainboard to use that cpu
Change the motherboard and get DDR4 2133 2x4GB. I recommend you get a H110M motherboard but make sure its updated to support kabylake, Let the person who are you buying the motherboard from test if it works on G4560 thats what i did. I didnt need to update my H110M motherboard because it was already updated but its better to check if its updated before you buy it.

You cant make sure it supports it until you already bought it. Safest option is to still get a b250 board, at least for another couple months.

In regards to ultrawide monitor. The 1060 is a great video card for 1080p@60hz. Going beyond that it will have issues, so a 21:9 monitor will get reduced frame rates
The 4560 is a great entry level cpu but wont be able to max out a 1060 on cpu intensive games.
So to answer your question you will have to reduce settings and/or have lower fps in order to run that setup on a 21:9 monitor.

B250 motherboards are too expensive compared to H110 motherboards

I got the Asrock H110M HDV and it was updated to the latest version when i bought it, worked with kabylake, If the motherboard you got is not updated the person who you bought it from will update it for you using his skylake CPU its really easy.

If you bought it from a shop, sure. If you bought it from newegg, amazon or other vendor then no they are not going to upgrade the bios for you.

hmm i never buy online so i didnt consider that
