Can No longer Activate "Prey". What to do?

I installed this old game (Prey) that I used to love, to give it one last play through for old time's sake. It required an online activation using the CD key provided with the game. But it appears the server is no longer in service. What to do?

See if you can active the game in Steam. Steam has a service where you can enter the activation code to activate the game and then you can download and install from Steam.

Thanks. It says my product key is invalid. But I know it isn't. It's the same one I always used to use to play Prey in the past.
