HP Presario C700.Will not allow any bootable data .Can not change boot order in bios.(Bootable flash through usb with Linux works)..Windows has conflict and missing bootmgr or insert bootable disc useless.messages .Hard drive and cd rom not recognised. And usb bootable is my only option .Hard drive is ok,.Rom ,not sure ,no sound of movement?.This notebook previously had 'DPS' unabled resulting in dependent services unabled.Hope this makes sense.Notebook had a motherboard repair over seas.Hence the history of events not known.About to throw away.

.yes.I was presented with admin p/w/request but I overcome that.Got a password ..but bios config section ..will not allow me to change much at all.Boot order ie No 1..floppy disc..pffft....No.2...CD rom,.(which isn't recognised or not working??),.No 3..note book hard drive (which isn't recognised but is a bootable Win 7 that works)..No 4./USB etc..No.5 Network Adapter,.I have a notion ,.if one messes with this area too much something dis-activates,...???.microsoft maybe..?.Next i'll try a bootable hard drive .Take mine out and connect via USB...???I've tried heaps of bootable iso..etc ..rpair discs win 7/and image iso bootable.via USB but ,.keep getting missing bootmgr ,.Or a few times I fluked a partial boot to Realtech,.etc..
PCI Fast Ethernet Control v 2.22.etc
PXE--E61 exiting media fail
PXE-Mof : exiting pxe rom
Bootmgr missing ,.push alt--ctr-del.and restart
But there already is a bootmgr on board ??..the hard drive. or all the rest of the bootable iso's..aaahhh.,.F1 F2 F9 F10,all respond,.but no recovery F11.
Thanks for your time.

when you turn on the computer there will be a a option that says Esc then that will display the start up menu press F9 then itll display the boot option menu I recommend that you do it off a usb but plug the usb before you turn the computer on itll show the your usbs name click on that if you do this all correct it should say windows loading files

,.Hi,.Yes I have already tried this and it does (F9)show ,usb, hard drive and optical drive (cd.Rom).But what ever I choose I simply get "bootmgr missing, again. On the USB is a win 7 repair disc (bootable ),.which has a bootmgr file on it.So it seems this PC has been worked on by someone ???(Thialand) who changed mother board,..I'm thinkin maybe i'll need to send to a tech to check things out.I thank you,.Further ,PC does boot 'Linux '..OS,.Maybe ,there is no conflict with Linux,.I prefer windows ,.I only tried Linux to see what would happen.I'm suspicious that the cd rom needs replacing. It may be read then.???Anymore ideas welcome,.I too, love a challenge, but this may be too tricky without knowledge of its history.
Oh ,.but sometimes I have a partial boot ,.but result ,.insert bootable device which is kinda weird ,..as I have .

Night owl,.here,.My problem with c700 Presario ,.solved....I must thank you for your time ,.cheers ..But,..i found that replacing CD ROM,.$25 ,.allowed me or PC to read off CD disk with Windows 7 ,.which installed to the repair page ,.And I'm not throwing Presario off a cliff now.But because the boot order was stuck on floppy first,,...Bright IDEA,....I found a external floppy drive and plugged into USB and put 'Bootmgr file' only on it.This opened a page on screen.Never seen before.Said ,.boot config and order have been changed .Please insert Windows disc and go to 'repair my computer' section.File Boot /BCD/....status 0xc00000f,. which led me to find out a faulty CD rom was the problem,.I feel pretty stupid not knowing ,.but pffft ,.its fixed,...the cause ,.putting conflicting OS on PC.( 64 bit on a 32 bit systrm)system,.
