Hello

My system tells me that 3840x2160 is my recommended resolution.
But every time I chose this resolution Windows 10 reverts back to 1920x1080.
I tried to chose 2k and did not work either.
My TV loses the signal for 15 seconds then Windows reverts back to 1920x1080.

My Specs:
Display: LG 4K UHD TV
Screen Size 43"
Resolution 3840 x 2160
Refresh Rate 50Hz

Graphics card: AMD RX 580
System: Windows 10 (1909) (Ram: 16gb)

Solutions I tried:

- Removing the gpu driver and reinstalled it (with factory reset).

Thanks in advice.

What version HDMI cable are you using? If it's an old 1.4 cable, it might not have the necessary bandwidth to carry a 4k signal. For example: HDMI 1.4 is only rated for 4k60 when running at 420 chroma so if your trying to set 4k60 with an older HDMI cable it will reject the connection and go back to 1080p after the 15 second timeout.

1440p should be OK as long as you have a fairly recent (1.3 I think) HDMI cable. That being said, since 1440p is a PC resolution make sure the input is set to PC; the TV might not accept the resolution outside of PC mode.

You guys are correct!
The cable was the problem.
I tried a new cable after reading your comments and I managed to change the resolution.
