Can not format sandisk 4gb usb memory stick

When I insert my memory stick into my desktop it shows up as "removable disk f:" but when I try to format the memory stick into NTFS windows tells me "Windows was unable to complete format". I have not had any issues with this memory stick before. Does anybody know how I can get this memory stick to format right. Please help if you can. Thanks! 😀

Some sectors of your memory stick may not be able to access Read/Write. You do not want to use the memory stick.
