HOW CAN I FIX MY VISTA CD ROM DRIVE

is it connected properly?
do you see it in device manager?
do you see it in disk manager?
do you have every update - scan your pc for extra updates.

Post exactly what the issue is, what happened to cause this, what you are trying to do, what messages you get. Sounds like you need driver disks after a new OS installation. You can get those online fromt he vendor of your computer if you don't have disks. That would have nothing to do with fixing the CD drive, your original post and follow up answer have nothing to do with each other.
