Can not update or install a single driver. "access denied

Hello. I have done an okay amount of troubleshooting. My problem is the same as the title. If anyone has any idea on how to fix this, much appreciated. I am not godly knowledgeable with computer, but I do know a considerable amount , so just keep that in mind

Make sure your the Administrator for the PC when you log on.

I am an admin account. And it has always worked on this account too. it just suddenly stopped working. I can't even uninstall the USB ports nor the drivers from device manager

This is not the answer... this anybody can do. we are looking for a solution. because I am also facing the same issue. Recently in my home pc, usb pen drives are not detecting as mass storage device. In device manager however it is present. Even we cant update the driver.. resulting in access denied error!!!!!.( As administrator). ??? I changed the permissions on windows folder. still the same result. Any idea, is it any virus? I checked the registry for usbstor option its looking fine(3)
