Question Can not upgrade BIOS with old asus motherboard

Hello I have a motherboard extracted from an asus desktop (https://www.asus.com/supportonly/V6-P8H61ELX/HelpDesk_BIOS/), currently using i3 2100, want to install i5 3570, so i need to upgrade bios but i cant, it says ''image integrity check failed'' I have no acces to serial number which asus asks too much so they can help me, they told me to install windows 7 which is the OS for this motherboard and upgrade bios but im not too sure it will work, I am doing it anyways, does anyone know what else can i do?
