can OC. decrease smoothness?

If I'm overclocking my cpu athlon II x4 750k, from 3.4ghz to 4.0-4.3 ghz, I'm getting more fps, but i feel it less smooth, so, can oc. decrease smoothness or it's just me?

Maybe you set the clocks too high. Try lowering them down until you have more FPS and the game is as smooth as it was.

I got the same thing while watching a movie.... I'm a newb but right now I am trying to overclock. Benchmarked overclock had lower fps on Shadows of Mordor... I'm working through it but the struggle is real.

Ocing can be a pain, can have something set up and appear to running perfectly fine, then you'll come across some app/game or whatever and it all goes to crap...but it may simply be that particular app/game or whatever so it may not be your OC, might be the version of the app or drivers for a certain component (GPUs in particular)
