I have a 5-7 years old monitor, it's a 23" Acer, works fine.

But it only has a VGA input and another kind of port, not sure the name, like a gold VGA kind of...with more pins.

But it doesn't have HDMI or USB or nothing like that.

I'm buying a brand new ultra slim laptop and it doesn't have VGA...so I'm worried it won't work properly with monitor....

If I buy an adapter from HDMI to VGA, will this work 100% or it might not get the proper resolution?

Should I only buy a laptop with VGA port, or buy that one and risk needing to by a new monitor?

Can't seem to find info on that exact model number. The X233H seems to have VGA, DVI, and HDMI ports. You would be better served using either the DVI (with appropriate adapter) or HDMI port if available.

Can you post a picture of the actual ports your display variant has?
