Hi
I have been experiencing a really annoying issue for the past 4-5 months where my network will only connect at a maximum of 100 Mbps Full Duplex on a Gigabit connection. It used to run ok at 1Gbps and then for some reason stopped?
System info:
Manufacturer Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
Model GA-K8N Pro-SLI
North Bridge NVIDIA nForce4 Revision A3
South Bridge NVIDIA nForce4 MCP Revision A3
CPU AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4400+
Cpu Socket Socket 939
RAM 4GB PC3200
HDD 4xSATA total 2TB
I believe I am running the correct driver NVIDIA nForce 10/100/1000 Mbps Driver version: 67.8.9.0 Driver date 1/08/2008
I have checked the Configure settings under Local Area Connection Properties and there is no 1000Mbps setting available only Auto Negotiation (which is how it has been set).
This topic has been covered for Vista and I believe here was a fix through some registry editing (happy to edit the registry under guidance, though not an expert by any means).
My guess is that the installation of SP3 may have affected the gigabit lan settings? If anyone has a solution or some regedit instructions that will work for XP pro that would be great.
cheers
Roger
