Hey

So I’m trying to Overclocking for the first time ever. Got this build back in June 2014. Changed a few parts recently. Have an i5 4670k (late to the party on OC I guess). I’ve followed (to the best of my ability) a couple of guides on here:

http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-1722630/intel-god-quick-dirty-guide-4ghz-haswell.html

https://www.overclockers.com/3step-guide-to-overclock-intel-haswell/

These recommend setting VCore voltages to 1.25-1.3, my bios seems to limit 1.2v as the max I can set...

I set the clock core ratio at 42, along with each individual core to 42.

Windows will boot with no problems, temps are in the 30s.

Go back to bios and try to change To 43,
Load through to windows and then Blue Screen.

Any ideas on the cause? The fact I can’t increase Voltage higher? Shit luck in the Overclocking lottery? The fact it’s 4 years old CPU?

From all the posts I’ve read though I feel like I should be able to push it further...?

It’s been running now for around 45 mins doing a stress test at 4.2ghz, no problems so far.

Thanks

Definitely the vcore. I know OC it's fun and all but from 3.7 to 4.2 ghz you will not see any difference. If you really want to OC tho tell me what it's ur Mobo and i could help you.
