Can only start my PC with an electric shock

I can't find this question anywhere, but it's unique to me. My PC only turns on in a weird way and I'd like to know why. If i press the power on button, nothing happens. The only way for months it has powered on is to jiggle my plug into the power board until it gets an electrical surge and powers on. It's strange cause even if the cord is removed i don't have to press the power on button again. Once it's on, everything works fine, but why is this happening and what can be done to prevent it? Thanks.

I don't hope you are giving it an electrical surge. Did you try to just short the 2 pins on your motherboard in which the power button connects? It is possible that it is just your power button or the wire that are faulty.
