Can pc work on square wave inverters

It wont be happy about it, but the circuits in a good PSU should prevent it from causing damage to the components inside the system, but it may drastically shorten the lifespan on the PSU. A square wave inverter is about as cheap of an output as you can get, at least try to find a stepped square wave inverter, thats closer to the sine wave the PSU is expecting.

But can you tell what is the problem, as the CPU works on DC. So one converted to DC what is the significance of AC or DC ?

Your CPU does work on DC, but it works on 12V DC which its own voltage regulators then adjust to the desired voltage, but your PSU is expecting a pure sine wave AC input which it then converts to stable DC to feed to your CPU and other components.
