Can People I Email See My IP Address?

When I send someone an email in Google, is there anyway for them to figure out my IP address? Or even the area I live in? I've heard that if you use something directly from your computer like Outlook then they can, but if it's web-based like Google or Yahoo they can't, but I want to be sure.

I doubt it, unless they really, really, want to look for it. I don't think most people would have the skills to obtain your IP address. If you're paranoid look into using a disposable e-mail account or use protonmail, it is supposed to be the most secure e-mail service out there right now.

They could well do so by examining the "Received" fields in the headers. So what - what does it matter if people know your IP address?
