Can play files but can't copy or move them from my external hard disk

Hi, I've got a Seagate 1 tb external hard disk... It contains about 460 GB of data... Yesterday I tried to copy all of it into my other external hard disk with the intention of formatting my seagate hdd... However while copying I found that there were several files which i could not copy... I could open them but i could not copy or move them... Whenever I try to do that it says file cannot be read from source... Could you please tell me why this is happening & how to solve this problem?? I've set my hdd for check disk to scan & attempt recovery from bad sectors however its taking an immensely long time... Please help

Try deleting all the files you've already copied to a safe place and run Checkdisk again.

Was there a specific flie type that refused to go over?
