I don't seem to be able to print documents (text, MS Word, etc.) from my new Win 10 PC, but, if I select to print something out from a browser it seems to work. It also prints out a test page. The printer is a HP.

Printing from our laptops with WiFi is not a problem. The problem one is the PC that is hooked up via USB.

I am choosing the right printer, and the diagnostics aren't finding problems.

Anything spring to mind why this is happening?

did you installed the driver for the usb printer?

why can't you use it via wifi?

is the printer configured with a static ip on the network? it is alot easier to print form wifi than fight with a usb port and a hp installer trying to configure a usb port

details on the driver used, printer used and windows you have please

I downloaded the latest driver from the HP site.

I don't believe the PC has wifi. It connects to my router via an ethernet cable. It worked fine with the pc I had on there before....

It looks like it is a static IP address.

The printer is a HP Photosmart Premium C309g-m. I downloaded and am using the latest software from the HP site. I'm on Windows 10.

It worked with this set up before, so hopefully it won't be a problem, but I like your idea and I'll look into it.

Thanks!
