Question can proper riser cable damage MoBo/GPU?

I purchased this cable over a year ago but I'm so anxious to try it because I own expensive gpu and MoBo.
So I wonder even with this cable,can it somehow short of any of the components and make it to prone to failure?
I suppose failure rate is like 1 %,but I read on amazon all kinds of crap and made me scared.

Dont use the metal screw if you do use it!!
I would email TT's CS Dept and they will give you a replacement. Or just buy a replacement from Amazon Prime for 2 day delivery.
That c able you have is is PCIe 3.0 and not 4.0 anyway, so if you have a 3000 or 6800 series card and a Current MB if might not boot anyway.

My bios has that too, but no amount of bios settings Auto gen 3 etc could make it post. Its a somewhat common issue. It might have been an AMD GPU only.
I bought a GEN4 LINKUP riser and it posted.
Not everyone has the issue.

I cant explain the issue but its real. Supposed to backward compatible, but like poor MB bios is the cause.
