I've built up my computer and it's all connected correctly I've done this before and checked manuals etc thoroughly the mobo don't beep and I've tried a HD TV and VGA monitor could maybe one of u guys suss out why a ace 650w psu might cause problems the gpu requires 75w 6 pin or is this a standard for psu? The computer boots up and all fans run cpu gpu and case fans plus case LEDs

Are your fans and other things working? It could be the PSU, and if you are getting no display if your motherboard has no built in graphics card it could be the GPU, keep narrowing it down. Try the GPU in a different system if it supports it, or try a different PSU that has enough power. Usually no beep is bad.

Yes they're on, when I use the hdtv the moment I turn it on the screen does something as if it's about to come on but goes to no signal could there be insufficient power for the gpu to produce anything I've got a 20 pound psu powering a r9 270

Defiently don't cheap out on a PSU especially if you have a high-end GPU. I would recommend picking up a new PSU, atlesat a 500W PSU would do you good. Figure out the current wattage of your PSU, and with that determine whether or not the PSU is the issue. Also if it is your PSU, you could be stressing it too much and overheating it.

if your build is a newer intel or amd with an apu pull the gpu and see if the onboard video posts. if it does not start with the simple debug. check that the mb sitting on top of all of standoffs and not shorting out. same for the rear metal shield make sure it not shorting the mb out.on the mb itself will be a 4 or 8 pin power plug on the side of the mb make sure that plugged in that extra power for the gpu. on the mb check that the reset and power are on the right pins and that the reset button not stuck in. some mb if the bios is not updated some mb will only post with one ram stick in it.

I've got a MSI 970A G43 mobo which is PCIE 2.0 and my gfx is 3.0, afaik this doesn't cause problems, thus why I went for it. I'm going to try a coolermaster psu from my pc (this is lil bro's for xmas) to see if it's that, if not what are the possible causes for this? Hardware compatibility? Everything fits nice and snug.
