Hi,so I've got an asrock 870 extreme3 r2.0 but i've heard that some ram can fry your motherboard. Is this true? He said it had something to do with the version. Pls help
if you install it wrong its possible. and yes, DDR3 ram will not fit in a motherboard meant for DDR4. and if it does then you could damage the motherboard that way too
Can it ? ... perhaps if you try really, really hard. While up to 1.7 volts is certified by Intel as XMP compatible, I have seen extreme overclocking users push Mushkin DDR3 w/ voltages up to 1.94 volts on Intel systems w/o issue.
