Can RAM fry your motherboard?

Hi,so I've got an asrock 870 extreme3 r2.0 but i've heard that some ram can fry your motherboard. Is this true? He said it had something to do with the version. Pls help

If the Ram gets hot than it can damage the motherboard. Though newer systems will shut down if that occurs to stop over heating.

But if this was happening you would be getting BSOD and rebooting sometimes in a loop. No issues with the above than your memory is fine.

If you overclock than you can stress test the system with prime95. Prime95 will test your overclock for stability.
 
Can it ? ... perhaps if you try really, really hard. While up to 1.7 volts is certified by Intel as XMP compatible, I have seen extreme overclocking users push Mushkin DDR3 w/ voltages up to 1.94 volts on Intel systems w/o issue. As long as you stay within your MoBo makers recommendations. Intel maintains a list of what works ... I never found AMDs list, but if you go looking, I'd start here:
