[SOLVED] Can Ryzen 1700x support 3600Mhz RAM?

Hello, so I want to upgrade my RAM but I heard somewhere that Ryzen 1700x can support up to 3200Mhz RAM and not more than that. I tried searching a lot but I couldn't figure out if its true or not. Can any expert here guide me please?

In my own familiarity with the 3xx series chipsets I think all of them list speeds above 29xx as "(OC)+" and I don't think the CPU itself can leverage that speed. Mines perfectly happy on some CL16 3200 though.

The IMC on the first gen Ryzen was comparatively weak, I wasn't able to run my 3200 CL14 kit at those speeds on my 1700 on this CHVI, but YMMV.

I am currently running my RAM at 3200Mhz CL16. I wanted to upgrade it to 3600Mhz but I am worried if my CPU can achieve those speeds.

You won't get a performance jump that is worth buy a new set or ram I would just leave it with the 3200mhz

If you already have 3200 then it’s a waste to buy again for 3600
