This is my first time building a gaming pc and so i got a friend to help me get some parts for my build, i used Pcpartpicker to plan my gaming pc build and he told me to use the MSI 970 Gaming ATX Am3+ Mother board for my build but it says there was an incompatibility issue, do i need to change my motherboard or cpu?!

That motherboard has supported the FX8350 since 2014 (the test report is for the M.0 BIOS which was released in 2014). https://us.msi.com/file/test_report/TR19_3193.pdf You should have no BIOS compatibility issues.

Since the FX-8350 (125W) is listed in the table and at the top, the BIOS revision is shown as M.0 that means there is a version of the BIOS that supports the 8350. THEN you look at this page -- https://us.msi.com/Motherboard/support/970-GAMING.html#down-bios which shows that the M.0 BIOS was released in 2014.

THEN you look at this page -- https://us.msi.com/Motherboard/support/970-GAMING.html#down-bios which shows that the M.0 BIOS was released in 2014. [/quotemsg]
