I decided that I need an upgrade as my current computer is getting old and useless. I always wanted a nice computer so I decided to go for my dream machine. This will be my first solo build, I have been recruited to help assemble a friend's computer before. As it is expensive I don't want to purchase everything and then realise they are incompatible.

I am going for a computer that will run games at 4k at max(or near) settings for the next 3~5 years. I will also do work on it but I can use my laptop for that if needed.

First, is the cpu cooler enough?
and when I picked the RAM it appears that the C9 has better latency but the C10 is $10~20 more expensive. is there a reason for this? And another worry is that if the case I picked is big enough, as it looks as if it only has semi-good airflow.

Thank you for your time reading this.

Solution
I don't see the reason for changing to that more expensive motherboard ...

The Phantek case is a very good choice.

I don't see the reason for adding so much fans.Maybe two of those at the top of the case, but that would be all i would add

The strider is a decent psu,but if you have the budget would this be a very good choice,

the Corsair also would still be a good choice for the price in that first list.

You probably could save money by going for a 500gb ssd+1tb hdd.

Thought about getting the best single card for your budget? Like the gtx 980 ti,add one when going for 4K if you have the budget.Don't know what you pay for that, your prices are lower than the pcpartpicke.
For a build like that would i pick a bigger case.mostly because of the sli you seem to want.

The cooler imo would do fine for a stock replacement and letting the cpu use turbo, but for overclocking probably not enough. Not that overclocking is really necessary with a turbo of 4.4ghz.

I don't know where you're looking, but i would pick a different psu, there are probably as good psu's for less money.Well looking via the pcpartpicker maybe not since Australia. You've got some pretty low prices anyway in that list.

would something like this be fine? http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/bZBLXL

Lets get straight to the point.
First of all if i ware you i would certainly not spend that much money on the motherboard. Even if you do plan to overclock it an ASROCK fatality will be perfect. Also do not go with a Gpu from PNY select a better brand like GIGABYTE , EVGA , MSI or ASUS. And last but not least do not get a corsair psu they are overpriced and not that good. Coolermaster v series or evga g and p series are way cheaper and way better .( 850w is more than enough )
And in my opinion i think the case is fine if you fill all the fan ports.

Solution
personally I would go with a 1000w EVGA PSU for future proof(I prefer when I want to upgrade to upgrade GPU,CPU,RAM or even MOBO rather than a PSU).I would say go for 500gb SSD and 2tb HDD. as for a case I like corsair cases for their design and they are generally well built(in that case 750D or 780T) but you can also look for thermal take and cooler master cases. For the GPU I would recommend you a single GTX TITAN X or 2 GTX 980ti(I prefer the first choice because I would prefer to go with a single card solution because SLI have its own disagreement)over 2 GTX 980 as you want a 4k future proofed system for 3-4years.as for future proof 32gb DDR3 RAM may be recommended due to advancement in gaming technology but you can add another 16 GB in time when its needed so right now it will do it. select as the solution if you think its the answer to your problem.

I was actually thinking about a pair of 980tis. I think I am going with the 980tis by purchasing one now and another when the price drops. tHank you for the PSU recommendation. This is my current scheme http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/PtLpYJ

also sorry for the long time replying as after I wrote that entry my wife reminded me that I had to go to my son's school camp. Thank you for the reply.

looks like I'm settled. Thanks
