The basic problem is I'm building a new low budget pc, but can't install windows on the M.2 drive. It does show in the BIOS and in windows.

Figured I'd pop it into my own PC, testing and formatting continue.

Did extensive research to figure out a solution to no avail. If anyone has got any other solutions, I'll check them out, but if anything, can someone confirm that it's defective, I'm not sure.

Not that it should matter but here is the hardware
SSD - Mushkin Pilot
Mobo - Asus Prime B450M-A

I would think it's defective, BIOS and Disk Management show wrong values.
