Ok so Currently I have windows 10 installed onto my 1TB hard drive along with alot of games , programs etc.

I have downloaded windows 10 onto a usb stick using the media creation tool.

If I shut down my pc , remove the 1 TB hard drive. Put in a 250GB SSD, put in the usb stick and then install windows onto the ssd . I still have my original key from windows 7 so will that work ???

Then once windows is installed onto my ssd I can shut down my computer , put 1Tb hard drive back in . Windows will laucnh of the ssd but all my old files will be on the 1Tb ,,,, thanks

Solution
Key yes, once it activated in win 10, you can reinstall it on the same hardware.
files will be ok. games/programs will have to reinstall.
