Ok, so I'm looking into buying a new graphics card now and I once again have been extremely confused with how to SLI my cards?
I'm looking into possibly one of the GTX 970s.
I have a MSI Z97 U3 Plus motherboard.
I know that there's a PCIEx16 3.0 and 2.0 slot that I could fit two cards in. I Get that 2.0 might bottle neck the 2nd cards speed, but by how much? Also what does it imply when motherboards state one card at x16 or two x8 etc. I think my board supports x16 and x4 what does this mean...?
Can I actually SLI with my motherboard? If so what would I need aside from at two SLI capable cards?
Also, any opinions on water cooling the 970s? In the future if I did SLI the cards I would probably grab water blocks for them. So naturally I'm pretty sure this excludes me from getting the G1 since its long non reference design, but for the time being I would rather not use a reference card since it might be a while before I upgrade.
