Hello.

So, I'm wanting to buy a 4tb internal SATA SSD. I hop onto New Egg and see these two (seemingly) virtually identical Samsung HDs. I'm trying to decide which one to get for my gaming PC. While I know enough about hardware to be dangerous, frankly whatever the difference is between these two drives is, aside from 100 dollars in price, is beyond me.

The drives in question are...

and

Many thanks for your time.

I think the qvo uses QLC NAND and the evo uses TLC.

The benchmarks are likely different. The TBW ratings may be different. Not sure about the DRAM cache comparison.

You get to decide how horrible it would be to own the QVO. I haven't looked lately, but I'd expect there are a lot of nay-sayers about it due to the QLC and spec sheets.

Dig on the net for anecdotes and then decide how important they are. Some folks have TLC envy; some less so.

I have the 8TB version of the QVO; ironically when I got it a year and a half ago it was only a little more expensive than the 4TB is now; prices have really gone up. Anyway the QVO is a lot slower than the EVO. I only use mine for long term backup storage so I don't write much to it. If you're going to be writing to yours a lot then the EVO would probably be worth the extra money. The QVO is just slow.
