Question Can someone help me confirm if this is a false positive?

I'm trying to download a 2007 version of Risk that I used to play as a kid. I've only found like two places on the internet to download it, and both are coming up as positive on virustotal for " Trojan.VBS.130831" which has me suspicious that it might be a false positive.

I tried uploading the files individually to virustotal, and it seems to be the "padding.dat" files that are all coming up as the trojan.vbs.

I know nothing about how to determine this, other than opening them in notepad which seems to be nothing but the letter A.

One should always assume that programs downloaded from file-sharing websites contain malware.

The detections you're getting may be false positives - or they may not be. It's not worth the risk.

Always assume the virus warning is correct in the absence of any proof that it's false.

To do otherwise over something you can easily live without is asking for trouble.
