my budget is 1300$ (includes keyboard, monitor, wireless modem and mouse) before rebate

my original plan was to get this asrock mobo ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

There's nothing wrong with the mobo. You're parts are fine, you should stick with them. Unless your planning on SLI you should reduce to 750W as 850W is only needed for SLI and above.

i dont think i will be overclocking anytime soon since i dont really get the concept of overclocking maybe the next time i build a computer, i might want to overclock but to me and my lack of understanding, i think i might fry the processor doing so.

it is a good board actually... what it lacks compared to z68 are the smart response technology and lucid virtu switchable graphics capability... not to mention that you cannot use the cpu's built-in graphics... if you can live without these features... then it's ok for you to get the p67 board...

to a person who dosent know much or anything at all about computer hardware, and is mainly going to use the computer for gaming, school work and streaming, which board woulld you recommended?

Oh wait, I thought it was the z68 extreme4 gen3. don't get a p67 motherboard seriously.

What the poster meant was. In any event that your GPU gets broken, you will be able to use the cpu's built in graphics card so you can still use the computer. If you get a p67, you won't be able to use the computer until you buy a new GPU.

The smart response technology is for SSDs. Since you don't have one, it won't be any different.
