Question Can someone help me install Java

So I tried setting up this Minecraft server last night for my friend and it seems to have * my whole Java set up. I had to uninstall Java completely but now I can't even install it again. Can someone help? It keeps showing this error message when I run the Java installer:

Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine.
Error:A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.

I cant even re install it and i don't know why

and what os?
what version of java? where did you download it from?
