Hello!
So recently I have been experiencing terrible internet problems due to my sky router so I looked online and found this: the TP-Link AC1750. (https://www.amazon.co.uk/TP-LINK-Archer-C7-Wireless-Gigabit/dp/B00CEB53MS/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1464447264&sr=8-2&keywords=tp-link+ac1750)
So I'm a little confused about it. Firstly, is it an entirely new router or is it sort of an extension for the current router?
Would it affect my wifi plan with sky at all?
Do I use it in conjunction with my current router, or do I only use this one?
Will it provide high download speeds whilst still being able to play games and watch movies etc?
I'm overall really confused but I gathered that y'all know what you're talking about so I figured I would come here. My current router is a Sky SR101.
Thanks!

The TP-Link does not have an integrated modem, so it can't be used to directly replace the Sky modem/router. It can be used in addition to the Sky device to improve wireless coverage or quality, but it won't improve your base Internet speed from your modem.

If the Sky modem/router is defective, you should have your ISP replace it, or replace it with a device that is approved by your ISP.

If the modem is getting a poor quality connection, it could be a line problem between it and your ISP. You would need them to troubleshoot any outside issues.
