That looks like a great well rounded build. You might want to consider changing the motherboard from the Sabertooth to something cheaper like a V-Pro and then spend the extra to exchange the 670 for a 7970 GHz Edition.

Save 30 bucks with a 2500k what it uses in voltage you make up for in overclocking.

That really does away the very small gain from buying the 3570K

I also say go for the 3770K since you are running pro apps. I would also go with an Nvidia gpu too as it will speed up those apps too. Don't buy an OCZ SSD, get one from Samsung or Crucial. If you are interested in a motherboard that's cheaper, but just as good, go with an ASRock Extreme 4.

Would disagree with using an i7 3770K for your build. Mainly because the difference isn't largely noticeable, and I'll have to say in the creation part of things, you'd want more ram if anything. I'd save that $100 for something else like a better GPU or idk an SSD.

The 7970 Ghz edition, clock for clock is better than the GTX 680 and that's obviously meaning it's going to be better than the GTX 670 for around the same price. Proof: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/toxic-hd-7970-eyefinity-6gb,3264-3.html

You get a better SSD, a better PSU, a better GPU and all for a lower price. Pretty solid if you ask me.

Of all your apps, After Effects is probably the one that's most likely to gain anything from CUDA. Sure Photoshop has CUDA acceleration but I'm a pretty avid user of PS5.5 and i'll be honest, there's not a lot of things that need a whole lot of speeding up that the CPU can't do. The i5 2500K I have handles all the in program filters/sharpening/etc pretty fast enough.

Also, IMO there's not a lot of things that After Effects need sped up either, I could be wrong. I use AE5 but I don't use it enough to say that I'm avid or for that matter a amateur. I'm pretty much average.

7970 beats out the 670 pretty close to 10 FPS and in every other game. Coming close if not beating the GTX 680.

Also OP isn't playing just BF3, he's playing COD games, ARMA, and others. Even if the 670 really did beat the 7970 in BF3, the 7970 beats it in every other game. BTW, with the 7970 updated drivers, the 7970 beats the GTX 670 if not ties...

At the absolute highest settings, the 7970 outputs still a higher amount of average frames than the 670 coming close to the GTX 680. This is with the Catalyst 12.9 beta drivers, not the 12.7b that most reviews used.

Hyper 212 is a lil low end for the rest of the machine and OP might as well get 16gb of ram for another 10 bucks
