Ok I have a question.. I have 10 mbps download speed internet.. not real fast but in the Philippines its better than other choices.. anyway.. I know your download speed can vary from website to website.. for example.. on ORIGIN game site.. I can only download my own games at 1 MBPS.. which takes forever to download.. back when I had 5 MBPS internet here. My download was only 500K .. so if the server can allow at least 1 mbps why would having 5 mbps as opposed to 10 mbps make any difference?? I went onto the ORIGIN website and saw download speeds from people who have fiber optic downloading at 70 MBPS and other varieties?? So what is the limitation from?? If I have 10 MBPS why cant I download at that speed if others are downloading much faster?? I have gone to speedtest.org and verified I have 10 MBPS download. So I don’t get it.. maybe I am just stupid.. and that’s possible. Just looking for an explanation.. thanks much..

Solution
megabits vs megabytes.
Your ISP refers to megabits/sec, Steam and Origin refer to megabytes/second.
Approx 8:1 ratio.

So, 10 megabits/sec (ISP number) is not much different than 1megabyte/sec (Origin number).
