I have a BFG 6800GS AGP 430/1.16 and a AMD 3000 cpu oced at 2.2 gigs
im running my vcore at 1.53 and benchmarks are coming out crappy.
But if I turn it down to 1.9 gigs it runs better??? same with the GPU
its like I cant run both oced??? do I need to up the power to my CPU??
Im running my GPU at 1.6. I pass all prime tests. Any suggestions

Adjust the cpu, ram and graphics card. The best way to get the "sweet spot" when it comes to overclocking is to experiment with the bios. Adjust the bus, put more voltage, adjust ram timings, adjust frequency and etc. until you get the best performance that runs stable. So don't be afraid to work on your bios.

its probably your ram timings what kind of ram you have did you oc and by how much?

I have a gig patriot s series ram
when i go over 200 mhz it does not seem to run right. if I have my card oced. like it cant handle both being oced. then if I back it off its fine.
I have it set to 166 in my bios. not sure what my timings are I will check cpu Z and post l. as far as temp my cpu runs at about 45c under full load.

lol noone asked yet, but what benchmarks and what scores you getting?
and whats your whole system config.

Epox 939 nforce 3 ultra mobo
amd 3000@ 2.2 gigs
1 gig of patriot ram
580 power supply
nvidia BFG 6800 gs @ 430/1.16

Its crazy becuase before i oced my 6800 I run 5300 on 3dmark 05
with 16/6 unlocked and running 370/1050 stock and 2.2 gig cpu. now with oc to 6800I run 4600 somthing so I turned it down to 1.9 gigs it did better at 4900 but still have not got be to or did better than 5300?? I dont get it

i assume that you are semi-knowledged so i ask this.
are you running your ram at 1t or 2t settings? this will impact scores. the other thing i ask is, how is the actuall real-life proformance of the system?
are you getting video lag ECT?

It's just a thought, but make sure that you dont tie the FSB speed in with the rest of the motherboard.

ie just overclock the ram and CPU. I experienced similar things when I inadvertently overclocked the full FSB, and ended up killing my sound card.

Set the PCI to 33 Mhz and the AGP to 66 FIXED (ie not linked to CPU). Then freewheel that FSB off the clock!

right now its running at 2t 2.5 3 3 7 10 16 as far as what cpu z is saying
I tryied to set it to 1t 3 .3 .3. 8
what settings should it be?
I turned it back to stock
then oced to 2.1 with out the voltage increase
running 5000 on 3dmark05
card oced at 430/1.16 then urned it down to 400/1.1

which I got 5288 with 2.0 gig and stock speeds on my card.
the only thing I had done on my card was 16/6 unlocked
but when I tred to oc my card it was unstabe.
should I try reformating my computer?
