Hello, my name is Jetsada and I like to know how of these components interact with each other and if its compatible.


Intel core i5 4440 3.1 GHz 4 cores 4 wires 6mb cache LGA 1150 socket.

Gigabyte GA-Z97P-D3 ATX motherboard LGA 1150 z97 USB 3.0 gigabit lan HD audio 8-channel.

Crucial ballistix sport 8 GB (4gbx2) DDR3 (pc3-12800) 240-pin UDIMM memory (RAM)

Gigabyte gaming 2GD Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 2GB graphic card

WD blue 1TB 3.5 inch SATA 6gb/s 7200 RPM hard drive.

Sentey computer gaming case ATX GS-6011 blade Mid tower (slightly smaller according to amazon)

And the last thing: Sentry power supply 725 W- xpp725/computer power supply ATX/140mm Fan sleeve bearing/48 campers/6SATA/2pci-e 6-2/ 115-230 voltage/power cord SLi and crossfire ready.



I really wanna know how all these components interact with each other and if they are compatible for ready to use and build it. Any advice is welcome so I can improve or change it.

I would be very pleased if someone can answer me because i'm new to tom'sHardware and into building my gaming pc soon

I have chosen to go for this PSU: Corsair Builder Series CX 600 Watt ATX/EPS 80 PLUS (CX600)
It's a bit pricey but It should do it.

I have also a question, what is the difference with that one and a modular PSU, Semi/fully versions?

Hope you know that if you order from USA to EU you will need to pay around 20% import tax, so if something costs 1000$ in America you will need to pay 1200$ because of import tax

Thanks for the heads up, most likely I will go for that one. If I choose this one it would be an overkill: XFX PRO750W Core Edition 80+ Bronze ATX 750 Energy Star Certified Power Supply - P1750SNLB9.

I try to buy parts inside EU and especially on a Dutch website if it matters but its hard to get all components like that.

Do u have some website I should look into it for buying pc parts? Since I have to pay 20% import tax if it has to come from America.

My RAM cost 46$
HDD cost 52,99 $
PC case cost 59,99$

And for example if I buy that PSU u suggested me it would be another 65,99 $ (if from amazon)

Total price is 224,97$ (without import tax) would it make a big difference if I have to pay import tax (all my other parts are from dutch website)

I kinda picked pc parts for myself but I count them all and its around 733 euro's (my budget is 750-800 euro's max)

I can see what parts you will be picking for me and lets hope its less then my own.

Why no SSD? I know it costs a bit to put a SSD into your build, but it's well worth it for the speed at which your computer would boot and run programs. Compared to a mechanical HDD, a SSD is many times faster at loading and is almost instant at accessing files. Where as a HDD has to move it's read head to the right location first, which slows it down.

Yeah I understand, always hard to get everything when on a budget. If you do add a SSD in the future you will need to re-install your operating system, hardware drivers, software etc. That's why it's easier to put one in to start with.....I'm not telling you what to do with your build, I'm just pointing out a future issue you may have. It just seem a shame to have a modern fast computer, that could boot in a matter of seconds, be slowed down because of it's HDD.

You're welcome 🙂 The reason I was pointing out the speed difference of a SSD is until you have one, you don't always know what a difference one can make. When it comes to choosing a SSD, a faster read/write speed is more important than capacity. You only really need the SSD for your operating system, drivers, software (office products, media viewers etc) and any other programs which run most of the time. All your other files go on the HDD.

I would like to ask is that GPU Gigabyte GV-R929OC-4GD better than Geforce GTX 960? It's a bit pricey than the other 2's but I'm able to pick it now properly since you've done it for me

Wow that's a lot. if I go for R9 290 do I need a whooping 650 Watt PSU? According to the charts it requires a minimum of 650 Watt (93 euros on Afuture wich I'm trying to buy most or all parts from it)

If I keep to GTX 960 I am satisfied enough because I mostly use it for work/school and ofcourse gaming just data 2 and maybe CoD series thats all. R9 290 is kinda overkill while GTX 960 is good for my wallet and good enough satisfaction.

No you don't need 650W but it is recommended. I'm running a R9 290X and i5 4690 on a 600W PSU and have no problems. To run a 290 on a lower wattage PSU it has to be good quality (80 plus silver or better). One other thing to think about with a 290, is cooling. I've got 5 case fans, start with only 3 but my system was too hot so had to add 2 more.
