Hello my name is Connor, and I have been recently having problems with my internet connection as of 2 weeks ago. One day I go on my computer to Skype with a friend of mine and play steam, but when I'm in a middle of my game a pop up comes up, and it says "error there is another device with the same IP address." So I got to my dad and he tells me to reset my IP via CMD. So I do that and everything is better for at least another 5 minutes then it starts to happen again. So I try a couple of other things with cmd and rebooting my router but nothing seems to work ;( oh and the "error there is another device with the same IP address." Only came up once and that was the week it began and hasent happened since.

Thank you for any sort of help it is very much appreciated.
Sorry if this has already been answered if it has then please leave a link to it in the reply thank you :)

Solution
Look in the router setup page and see what deviced are connected, you may want to disconnect them all manually and then reboot the devices and the router.

Are you using just one router? It the computer on wireless or wired?

This would not be an ISP issue since it's happening on an internal network not on the modem. The only way it could be from the ISP is if they setup your router and somehow they set the DHCP range to only a few addresses.

Your ISP might not provide you with a dynamic IP range.
