Hey Everyone,

My ISP has changed over my service to NBN (Cable) and has given me a new router to use. However, the new router only has 100 mbps ports on it, which poses a bottleneck to the rest of my network. As it is all gigabit ports with a NAS attached with 2 gigabit ports.

I am unable to simply revert back to the old router as the service changes have meant that I need to connect my phone-line through the router, using DECT, which only the one they provided is capable of.

So I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what router I should get to ensure my network is no longer bottlenecked and my phone line works.

Cheers,

Vainsy

But wouldn't that still slow down the speeds to the NAS for the wireless devices?

Thanks for such a quick reply!

A router with 100Mbit wired ports probably doesn't have fast wireless either. Your wireless devices will probably limited by the actual WIFI rather than the 100mbit link.

Use the router ranker over at smallnetbuilder.com An AC1900 router is the sweet-spot for price/performance.
