I've been wanting to buy a new pre-built gaming PC. But I've done my research on most pre-built gaming PC companies and it seems like a gamble. I've researched CyberpowerPC, iBuyPower and a couple other companies and I've heard reports of PCs arriving DOA and bad customer service.

Are there any pre-built PC companies that have a low number of DOAs and good customer service?

Solution

A while ago, we had a member here with a CyberPower build.
Thought it was a great deal. $2400. All selected parts.
We went through the whole parts list, and added up the prices.
All the parts, incl keyboard, OS,...everything.
$1800. And in some cases, better...

Yes, but I know there are companies that allow to pick the parts.

More specifically I'm asking, are there are any companies that let you customize your PC with good customer service?

I know CyberPowerPC and iBuyPower let you customize your PC, but I've heard a lot of bad things about them.

Another guy swore that he could NOT find the same parts for less than the $1600 CyberPower was wanting.
$1100.

And of course, their legendary assembly quality:

Replacing the PSU and rewiring.
Cloning the OS to the new drive, or a clean install.
Which negates the concept of the prebuilt.

That's halfway to actually building it yourself.

We're just outlining some of the often overlooked pitfalls of inexpensive prebuilts.

It has a 1 year warranty.
600W PSU
Case is a standard issue Phanteks Eclipse P300 TG = $50
The CPU and GPU alone would cost you $600.
Not saying all the components are going to be of the highest quality (you rarely get that in a prebuilt anyway) but if you can't build yourself, you'd be hard pressed to find a better value.
