Hey guys,
building a desktop pc and I want 16 gb of memory. Graphics card will be gtx 970.

This is my mobo: MSI X99S MPOWER LGA 2011-v3 Intel X99 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

CPU: Intel Core i7-5820K Haswell-E 6-Core 3.3GHz LGA 2011-v3 140W Desktop Processor BX80648I75820K

I was gonna go with this DDR4 memory card: Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2400 (PC4-19200) Desktop Memory Model BLS2K8G4D240FSA

Is that good or do you recommend something else (or other config 4x4gb).

Solution
I'd go 4x4GB, as long as you have the true quad channel capability might as well use it, might look at the GSkill Ripjaws, great sticks!
i just built the exact same system, MSI X99s Gaming 7 board with an Intel 5820K CPU and a Corsair H90 Liquid Colling system (easiest ive ever seen to install). Anyway, I went with these gsklilz sticks: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231822 so far the memory is overclocked to 3ghz and the CPU to 4 ghz and perfectly stable. The H90 is the holding the CPU temp steady even under load at 45c, 41c when idle.

Did you use the lga 2011 parts for the x99?
i'm having a hard time squeezing the h90 onto the x99s plus with a i7 5930K. :/ the screws seem too short yet the longer ones are too thin. I'm a noob with the newer chipsets so im in such a loss! XO 2011-3 BAH! LOL

Update: was able to get it on secure with the 2011 parts, but it was a real tight fit. the 4th screw kinda just perfectly threads compared to a handful of twists on other screws.
