Hello,
I have purchased an Asus A620M-AYW motherboard.
If someone knows how many watts does this motherboard supply to CPU, please tell me.
Currently i use 7500f and its perfect, but i would like to know about my future upgrade options.
I know that a620 was represented for 65w cpu, up to 90w. But there models lik AsRock Pro RS which can handle up to 120watt and handles 7800x3d.
But Asus doesn’t show VRM info and supply wattage info. There no videos in youtube about this model. So i am asking for help from you here, maybe you can check the picture of motherboard, check vrm counts and do some predicts etc.
I have asked asus support, and do you know what? Check what they answered:
“Thank you for waiting. Unfortunately, power phase information is not available for all motherboards. It is only available for gaming motherboard models. For your board, only the presence of 11 discrete ones is indicated. But the 7800X3D processor was successfully tested in the manufacturer's laboratory, and no problems were recorded ”
My answer was like this, but didn’t receive reply yet.:
Good evening,
Thank you for your reply. Sad to know that big company like Asus cannot answer simple questions like VRM phases of own production. Okay no problem with VRM size, lets keep it unknown. But i hope maybe you can answer how many watts does it support for CPU? When you test in your laboratory i guess your team notes its handle wattage. Up to 90watt or 120watt? For example MSI a620m (cheapest a620 motherboard) handles up to 90watt and they show it, AsRock A620 Pro RS handles up to 120watt and shows VRM size as 6+2+1. Could you answer only for wattage limit?
I understand that your laborotory have tested 7800X3D, and i am sure it will work perfect, even 7950X. But if motherboard handles up to 90watt, then use on it 120 or 160tdp CPU, then motherboard cuts CPU capabilities. In the same time CPU works fine, but not at full capacity and speed.
That’s why it was important for me to make right choice of CPU.
Thanks in advance,
Please if someone read these all and could understand what i mean, hope for your reply guys!
