Question Can someone tell me what these pcie slots are for?

I have a Genuine OEM Dell PowerEdge C6145 G34 Socket DDR3 AMD Server Motherboard 40N24. I was wondering what these pcie x 16 slots are for? I don’t know much about computers but it looks like I can’t find anywhere to install my gpu. It’s probably obvious. The PCIe slot is for installing your GPU. Also, once you install, make sure you connect the monitor to the GPU and not the motherboard.

Here is the spec sheet. http://i.dell.com/sites/doccontent/...s/en/Documents/PowerEdge_C6145_Spec_Sheet.pdf There are 3 pcie x16 slots according to the sheet. The three circled slots are where it goes. Look next to the slots for small printing that says pciex16 -1 That would be your primary gpu slot.

Those are not standard slots. They require riser cards. Expect them to be not cheap. And, as this is a server, do not expect it to accept a video card.

If you look at the owner's manual -- https://downloads.dell.com/manuals/...edge/poweredge-c6145_owner's manual_en-us.pdf there were special mezzanine cards that used those slots.
