I'm looking for a good techinical explanation of buffered versus unbuffered memory. Either a response here or a url would be appreciated.

I think I understand ECC, but a discussion about ECC versus NON-ECC memory would be benificial too.

Finally, what are the pro's n' con's to both each...

Can both be overclocked?

Is there any difference in consumption of power?

Here's the system I'm fix'n to toss together.. n' yup... I'm planning on overclocking this thing to the limit.... Then I'll give it away and start over...

MB - ASUS A7M266 (should be here 2/17)... HORRAY
AMD - 1.2 or 1.3 GHz 200/266 FSB
HDD - 2 IBM 75Gb drives
Video - Undecided GGforce2 ultra
audio - Creative 5.1 Platinum
CPU Cooler - Swiftech MC462
CDR-W - either Plextor or Aopen 16-10-32
DVD - Yeah sure, I suppose one's needed...

Case - Undecided, recommendations accecpted, would like one with capability of slide out tray for Motherboard.

Memory - 512Mb of DDR256 (not sure who's) recommendations please

Case Fans - Likely to be Pabst.. but unsure how many

Thoughts? Suggestions? reccomendations all appreciated...

Video Fans - recommendations please....
