[SOLVED] Can Standoffs Break Under Pressure/Cause Short Circuit?

Hello,
I've recently bought an ATX case (MX330) which included 6 brass standoffs pre-installed to support an mATX motherboard. My motherboard is ATX and so it needed the remaining 3 brass standoffs which came with the case to be installed. One of the standoffs screwed in properly, while the remaining 2 standoffs only installed a quarter or half way in using my finger, and they would not go any more than that. I've made a horrible decision by using pliers to forcibly twist them into position. The coating on the standoffs partially degraded by doing so. My question is will the bare material of the standoff cause a short circuit, and will they break under pressure when the other parts are placed on them? I have not installed any parts in the case yet, and this has been a real cause of concern for me.

Thank you for your time.
