Can taken up hard drive space induce lag?

I recently just got a new vostro 410 to replace my inspiron 570. My computer technician added my old hard drive into this new pc so now I have two hard drives. My old hard drive was almost completely full do to some steam games I installed. Could I be receiving stuttering from the old hard drive?

Not really, no.
Reading from a full, badly fragmented drive would be slow.

But if you're not accessing that drive, it's just sitting there.
