[SOLVED] Can the 1650 Super use help from ordinary RAM?

I recently bought AC Valhalla the game stutters on high-medium settings 1080p. My spec is: GTX 1650 Super 4GB, Intel core i7 7700, 2x4GB Corsair Vengeance 3000 MHz.

I plan to buy 2x8GB of the same Corsair memory (total 24GB), but I wonder if it would help or not?

Valhalla needs minimum 6GB of VRAM and 8GB of RAM. I just can’t believe that 2GB difference in gpu memory causes this much trouble.

Solution
system ram and vram are 2 different things. they do not work togther.

the 4gb you get on the 1650 super is the vram and it can not be changed. you have to buy a gpu with more vram on it to get more. system ram helps in other ways but in the end if the game needs more vram, then you need a new card.

Believe it.

Minimum specifications for GPUs are usually very conservative; they list the bare minimum to run the game, usually not even very well, so if it requires 6 GB of VRAM, you'd better believe it makes a big difference.

So then its better Im not waiting miracles from + 16gb of ram? Btw I fully understand that those are two different things, just wondered whether it can help or not.

Than better off waiting for the RTX 3060..

Thank you guys.

8GB of system RAM is low for most modern games, upgrading to 16+GB should definitely help with major stutters from the OS having to use the swap file.

The GPU can use some system memory to supplement a light VRAM deficiency, though you do need to have that much extra spare system memory for the GPU to use in the first place. If your priority is hitting 60fps above all else, you'll likely have to lower details to hit 60fps before having to reduce details to stay under 4GB a good chunk of the time.

I definitely buy that 16GB + memory either way and I will report back in a couple days.

Btw I heard some of the AMD graphics card user guys saying that their gpu is capable of “withdrawing” system memory up to 2GB this is why I asked about this.

That sounds like reserved memory on Ryzen APUs.
Installed the 2x8GB memory and with now 24GB it is running smooth. I could hit and keep the 30 fps with 30 fps limit. Everything on high except for shadows which is on medium. Its quiet heavy on fps it seems. However there are anomalies when the fps drops to 11 and stuff. It is not a gpu falter. Its bad optimization for pc. Hope they fix this. Either way a better gpu would surely solve a bunch of this issue.
